With the help of some smart kids and the adaptation of documentary directing skills we’d normally apply to film, we were able to tell a great story about the Park School experience through its students. Sometimes a good, differentiating creative idea is based entirely on execution; we need to rely on factors we can’t necessarily write or design, but we’re able to shape the vision, leading to very authentic-feeling work that’s also compelling and effective. In this case, we “cast” real kids, and then went out there and conducted the interviews ourselves to get these rich little poetic bios, that speak volumes about the school. We take a very hands-on approach to producing the ideas we come up with, and this adds another layer of value to what we make.
